13 Sexy, Fun Ways to Beat the Heat

13 SEXY, FUN WAYS TO BEAT THE HEAT:

It's been freaking HOT out... Well, at least where I live... so I was trying to think of thirteen ways (sexy, fun ways, of course) to beat the heat.

1. Go streaking!

2. Skinny dip.

3. Run ice cubes all over yourself or your partner.

4. Play "war" with your lover - using squirt guns.

5. Run through the sprinkler -- topless!

6. Stay in the air conditioning and watch a hot, romantic movie.

7. Have Sex on the Beach (the drink!).

8. Go for a cruise in a convertible. Top down, of course.

9. Suck on a popsicle. Any flavor.

10. Have an impromptu wet t-shirt contest.

11. Go out to a romantic dinner at a restaurant. Keep the heat out of the kitchen and keep it IN your relationship!

12. Blow on your partner's neck, make it sexy, it's sure to give them goosebumps.

13. Wear some sexy shorts and sandals. Let your body breathe!

So how do YOU beat the heat?

New Release by guest April Morelock: Best Little Spin Wash in Texas

Contest and New Release

Timid, geeky quantum physicist Molly Timmons lives in a man’s world of metaphysics when she meets a handsome John St. James at a Spin Wash and Go. One dark night trapped in the Spin Wash isn’t enough. Even as their relationship deepens, they learn of a dark secret the Spin Wash is hiding… a secret that could tear John’s world apart or could save his daugther‘s life.

Molly’s the key.

Time is running out. Will they figure out the Spin Wash’s secret or will they both be lost in time?

Excerpt:

His arms flexed as he slid the basket under his arm and walked around the washers. This was ridiculous; she needed to get laid if the simple pleasure of watching a man cross the floor had her flushed with sexual need.

Laundry detergent, White Rain shampoo, and something indefinable invaded her space and filled her senses as he walked past her.
It was hard to stay put.

She closed her eyes, took in another deep breath, and repressed a moan. This was why women loved sweaty men. Pheromones trumped common sense every time.

Forcing her eyes open, she watched him move; the hard muscles flexing and bending to his will A shift of his basket and his eyes clashed with hers, darkening. With a slow perusal, he took in her lightly muscled legs, encased in short blue shorts. She mentally slapped herself, thinking of how opaque her white T-shirt must look. Her mama had told her that, even with small breasts, she should always wear a bra.

Nipples peaked, pebbling through her shirt, as he continued his inspection, gray eyes almost black. She breathed shallowly, trying to ignore the ache blooming deep inside.

Molly was past shielding herself; she wanted those eyes on her. Her lack of propriety would have had her mother screaming a blue streak. Taunting a man like that, walking out of the house looking like a slut.

God, he had to stop looking at her.

He finally jerked his gaze away from her body and leaned down to drop his basket, then pulled the detergent and softener from it, those lovely muscles moving deliciously under his tan.

He was so close, and those jeans hit him in all the right places. She had to watch every movement, mesmerized by the bending and flexing of his thighs as he placed the detergent into the washer.

He was done too soon. His strong hands worked efficiently, the muscles underneath moving like strings on a piano. Strong. Graceful. Just the idea of those strong digits strumming her body, gliding across her skin, made her hold her breath.

She needed to get ahold of herself -- and quick -- if she was going to look him in the eye. Her face was tight, the skin undoubtedly flushed and almost feverish and not just from the heat and stickiness of the Spin Wash. She was letting her imagination get away with her.

Interview with Loose Id Author April Morelock

Please welcome fellow Loose Id and Romance Writers Behaving Badly author April Morelock!

How did you get into writing?

When I was eleven I had to have open heart surgery. That summer between my sixth and seventh grade year I couldn’t do anything - I was completely housebound. The doctor threatened me with uneven boobs if my sternum was rebroken.

Well, for a young woman that was pretty heavy stuff. I mean forget about the eight inch long scar marring my chest --- crooked boobs was horrifying. LOL… so I read a lot. And I mean A LOT. I had always liked books but now I got into the heavier stuff. I loved Trixie Belden -- tomboy after my own heart. Then I discovered romance. Love at first sight. And since my Gran Dunne had an unlimited supply of Harlequin’s, they were my favorites.

Eventually I graduated into the really steamy stuff--the thicker the better.

By the time I was a senior in college I thought I could write something better than anything I was reading at the time.

Whooohohoohoooo … was I wrong. My first story, a paranormal about a shape-shifting cougar orphaned at ten grows to adulthood without knowing her true talents. Then she’s hired to go into the backwoods and meets a clan of cougars. The most I remember from this story is that there were circus tents and lots of running around. Probably a truly horrid story but I knew then that I had to try it and I wouldn’t be satisfied until I wrote something I would really love to read.

That was sixteen years ago. I’ve started half a dozen stories, completed eight stories and I still haven’t written that novel.

What’s your writing process like? Are you a pantser or plotter?

That’s an interesting question. I love to pants… but I find it so wasteful for me. I’m an efficiency gal - I hate rewriting. I want to write it once and get it as near perfect as I can because I know once it’s done I’ll a.)loose interest AND b.) want to be done with it … and this is almost shameful to admit c) I’ll forget the bloody story!!!!

Sad… isn’t it? But seriously, I feel I have to hurry up and get it all down on paper before I forget what I planned to write or even what the characters looked like or what their occupation is or what the heck is supposed to happen.

It’s really odd - I shut those files down and its’ like someone else wrote the story. I just forget. I have to relearn the storyline every time I pick back up with it. Frustrating… sooooo I have to write everything down anyway why not plot it out.

Personally I have two things I just don’t want to write a thing without: 1. A spreadsheet with all my character sketches, what they look like, their motivations (most important) and character interviews 2. My Snowflake Method document. I don’t reference the document much by the time I write but it helps me work out the plot and see at a high level where to improve the storyline.

Invariably you can’t see everything. Usually about 2/3rds of the way through I’ll determine I have to add and tweak to the plot and that’s the point where things get messy. Otherwise once I have the Snowflake Method complete I just start writing.

I may make five or so swipes at the mss after that to clean it up, rewrite… perfect and then I’ll start submitting.

Any unusual rituals you follow?

Absolutely - I have to start my writing with a hot cup of tea with milk. Absolute must whether I’m writing at 5 am or midnight. Doesn’t feel right without it.

What’s your usual writing week look like?

I change my schedule based on what’s going on at home, with the kids and with my full time job. Summers, like now, are pretty lax. I try to work on my writing for a half an hour here and there in the evenings or during my lunch. Summers are my best time for culminating ideas and beginning new projects.

But the rest of the year, August through May and even into June, I’m usually very diligent with my writing. I’ll work an hour every day at least.

When I’m still plotting and planning or editing and rewriting, I’ll do this in the evenings after the kids go to bed. When I’m writing a first draft, I’m up at 5 am and often writing late into the night putting in 2-3 hours a day and working long hours on weekends.

I try to write three to four books a year but this year is an odd year, finishing up a lot of projects, so I only have two books planned but I’m completing and finishing up three others for agents and publishers.

What keeps you writing?

A myriad of things -- the pursuit of writing that novel I’ve always wanted to write. Not a “great American novel” … just a really well written book I can point to and say with a great deal of pride that I wrote it. I don’t even care if no one else reads it… I just want to have written it :>

But I also write because the ideas don’t stop and I’m always striving to find the best way to tell the stories.

I also have a few stories rattling around inside my head that are just for my children. Those are the fun ones I always make time for.

Any advice for upcoming writers?

Just keep writing and work at getting better. I need some new favorite authors to check out and you might be the next one!!!

Loose Id Author April Morelock HIJACKS my blog!

For Jeanne:

Shhhh… hehehehehe… she doesn’t know. Infiltration complete. Jeanne suspects NOTHING. Whooohooo!!!!

Um… No, Jeanne. No one here. I’m just watching the site to make sure no rogue authors butt in on your blog and take it over. Uh, hugh… okay. See you later Jeanne.

YESS!!!! I have complete control now. Mission accomplished.

Now I can talk about something truly heinous and wrong with society today. This is highly controversial topic, not many people can handle it - men definitely won’t talk about it.

I’m talking about the new rape prevention condom! (HA, you thought it would be something really political and weird like someone congratulating BP on their inability to clean up their mess… or something racy like the National Enquirer headline with the groundbreaking report on the latest Obama Gay Sex Scandal which I’m sure is completely true - HA….NOT)

Nope I’m talking about those new condoms that will grip with razor sharp rubber any penis that even thinks of entering the wearers vagina. Not the stuff of romance that’s for sure.

Now certainly I’m in the camp of the condom cutting the moron’s penis BEFORE it ever enters the woman (whereby it irrevocably tears her world apart) but no… I’m not talking about that controversy. If a woman wants to physically harm the m*&ther f^&(*#$, I’m good with that.

No the travesty in this is that we’ve figured out how to basically eviscerate a man’s penis but we can’t figure out something that will fit on a man and ensure he hit’s the g-spot on a woman with each stroke. I mean … really. I would love a device that I can slip inside. I’m fully protected to have sex with any hot biker dude in leather and chains without the fear of STDS AND finally obtain the pleasure that every woman deserves without having to deal with premature ejaculation.

I mean the woman that invented this “device” has a great idea but she just needs to expand the selection a bit more --- there could be the Loraina Bobbit model for those days when you just want revenge ….

A G-Spot special for those days when you just have to maximize your pleasure…

And then the Saturday night special when you’re just not in the mood and you need it over with so you can get some rest because the kiddies have run you ragged.

What are your thoughts? What kind of specialized woman’s condom would you want?

Stop back tomorrow to read April's interview. Come meet her more "in-depth!" And keep an eye out for her new release on Tuesday at Loose Id: Best Little Spin Wash in Texas. She will be sharing the blurb and an excerpt, as well as GIVING AWAY a copy of her new release!
