WOOT!

Ok, I want to know: What the hell is “Woot!”? When did this start and where was I when it started? It is ALL over the Internet now and I keep thinking. What does this mean? Am I that clueless? I guess I am. So I did a little research…

According to the Urban Dictionary at http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=woot “woot” is a term that began with computer gamers. It was a combo of the saying “Wow, loot!” or “Wonderful loot.” It has since lost the meaning and now is a term used when someone is excited.

In addition, http://www.unwords.com/unword/woot.html gives the explanation that it began an acronym for We Owned Other Team.

Woot can be spelled with the two o’s or two 00 (zeros).

Either way, it is currently a part of our culture. I hear adults saying it, or using it online, a lot.
All I know is I don’t use it and I doubt that I will use it in the future. But at least now I know what it means. WOOT!

Today is the BIG DAY

As a die-hard Steelers fan, I am so excited they are playing today at the Superbowl in Tampa, FL. I attended the AFC Championship game a couple weeks ago to watch them beat the Ravens. The crowd was unbelievable. I've been to quite a few Steelers games and I've never heard the crowd like that.

I love the colors black and gold, so I drive an Xterra which is black and gold in color. I had someone beep at me on the Turnpike the other day and when they passed they waved a Terrible Towel. It was fun.

Warning to other teams: Don't disrespect the Terrible Towel... Myron Cope will come back to haunt you. That's not a joke.

My favorite players: Hines Ward and Troy Polamalu. I miss The Bus (Jerome Bettis). He was an awesome player.

Okay, Steelers, let's make it a 6-pack today.
